What's inside
Every tool you need before casting off.
-
Briefings
Location-specific safety briefings that synthesize weather, tides, and alerts into a single read — updated every time you open the app.
-
Tides & Currents
Live countdown to the next high and low tides. 24-hour, weekly, and monthly tide curves with moon phases — every NOAA station on the U.S. coast.
-
Weather & Alerts
NWS marine forecasts alongside active small-craft advisories, gales, and special marine warnings — color-coded so you know at a glance.
-
Fishing Guide
State-by-state regulations, species size and bag limits, seasonal closures, and a composite fishing-windows score — so you know when and what you can keep.
-
Offline Ready
Last briefing stays readable without signal. The app caches your waypoints, tides, and charts so the boat-ramp parking lot is still the last place you check.
-
Multiple Waypoints
Save every spot you fish, cruise, or launch from. A swipe-through carousel puts each location one gesture away with its own live briefing.
How it works
Three steps from dock to departure.
-
Pick your location
Search a harbor by name, drop a waypoint on the map, or let GPS find you. Save the spots you use most — one carousel swipe from any briefing.
-
Read the briefing
Tides, wind, seas, sun and moon, NWS alerts, and fishing windows — intelligently summarized. Listen to the audio briefing while you back the trailer down the ramp.
-
Go boating
The last briefing stays on the screen even if signal drops. Updated safety information is a pull-to-refresh away once you’re back in range.
Designed for the boat
Glanceable under full sun. Readable in the dark.
Every screen is tuned for a pitching deck and divided attention — dark-first, high-contrast, one-handed.

FAQ
-
Is Boater Briefer free?
Boater Briefer will launch as a free download in the App Store and Google Play.
-
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Your last briefing, tide chart, and saved waypoints remain available without signal. New briefings require connectivity once you’re back in range.
-
Which coastlines are covered?
All U.S. coastal states plus the Gulf and Pacific islands, with NOAA tide stations and NWS marine forecasts. Coverage follows official U.S. marine data sources.
-
How accurate are the briefings?
Briefings synthesize data from NOAA, the NWS, and other authoritative sources. They are a planning aid, not a replacement for your own judgment or official nautical publications. Read the Disclaimer for the full statement.
-
Does the app replace marine radio or a chartplotter?
No. Boater Briefer is a planning companion. Keep your VHF, chartplotter, GPS, and paper charts in working order. Official NOAA publications remain authoritative for navigation.
